May has arrived, Runner/Walkers!

This week in Runner’s High, we’re spotlighting all the races and run clubs happening around Fort Lauderdale this month. Whether you're lacing up for a 5K or looking to meet fellow runners, we've got you covered. Joining a run club or signing up for a local race is more than just fitness; it's a chance to connect, stay motivated, and be part of a vibrant, active community.

Upcoming Races

  • May the Fourth Be With You 4 Miler

    This race will be taking place on Sunday, May 4th at 6:30pm at Tarpon River Brewing. A price increase will be in effect May 3rd at 11:59pm and registration for this race ends on the 4th before the race. This will be a Star Wars themed costume race, so dress up if you’re a fan!

  • Run for St. Mark

    This 5K run or walk will take place on Saturday, May 10th at 8am at 5601 S Flamingo Rd, Southwest Ranches, FL 33330 (Combined campuses of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and Archbishop McCarthy High School).

  • Annual Mother’s Day Celebration 5k/10k

    This run or walk race will take place at the Pompano Air Park on Saturday, May 10th at 7:30am.

  • Race to Cure Sarcoma

    This will consist of a 5k race and 1 mile run or walk. The race will be at the Las Olas Oceanside Park on May 17 at 8:30am.

Tuesdays:

Wednesdays:

  • Fort Lauderdale Run Club (2 miles) - 6:30pm at Tommy Bahama Las Olas

  • Tropical Run Crew (Social 3 miles) - 6:40pm at Holiday Park (Parker’s Theatre meetup location for run, post-run social posted under Weekly Rundown on Instagram page)

  • Front Runners & Walkers FTL (3,4 or 6 miles) - 7pm at Holiday Park (Between the gymnasium and the football fields)

* Please keep in mind that times and locations may be open to change depending on the run, weather and special events. Check their individual social media accounts to see if any time/location adjustments were made. Also, please note that a few of the run clubs have group chats if you want to stay even more up to date with what is happening in that specific run club. Lastly, be on the lookout for special events and promotions. This is a great chance to socialize and maybe even win something useful!
